A little preparation before you call or send a note helps us match you with the right service and set aside enough chair time. Textured hair services vary widely in length, so the more you can tell us up front, the easier it is to plan an appointment that fits your day.

What to mention when you get in touch

• The service you have in mind: a silk press, a protective style such as braids or twists, starter locs, loc maintenance, or a scalp-focused treatment.
• Your hair's recent history: color, relaxers, heat damage, or a protective style you are about to take down. This affects both timing and technique.
• Length and density: long or very full hair often needs a longer booking, especially for braiding and installs.
• Any scalp concerns: flaking, tenderness or thinning edges. We can talk through gentle care, but persistent symptoms are worth raising with a dermatologist.
• Inspiration photos: a picture or two makes it much easier to agree on the finished look.

Getting to the Tremont Street corridor

Mission Hill sits between Roxbury, the Fenway and the Longwood Medical Area, so many clients combine a visit with errands nearby. The MBTA Green Line E branch runs along Huntington Avenue, and the Orange Line's Roxbury Crossing station is within reach of Tremont Street. Street parking in the area can be tight, particularly on weekdays, so allow a few extra minutes. Planning ahead

Longer services such as braids, locs and installs are best booked in advance, especially before holidays, graduations and wedding season. If you arrive with your hair detangled and free of heavy product (unless we suggest otherwise), we can spend more of your session on the style itself.
